Overview The Office of Emergency Management is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and collaborative Grant Project Specialist to support the implementation, coordination, and administration of multiple local, state, and federal grant‑funded projects. The Office of Emergency Management is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and collaborative Grant Project Specialist to support the implementation, coordination, and administration of multiple local, state, and federal grant‑funded projects. This position requires a self‑motivated individual who can manage their own schedule and tasks to ensure goals and objectives are met. This position will work with a variety of partners with varying schedules. The typical workweek is M‑F during workdays, but flexibility is needed for nights and weekend activities as required. Occasional travel to meeting sites is required. Mileage is reimbursable, and a county vehicle is available. This is a term‑limited grant‑funded position. Individuals hired into limited‑term positions are eligible for County benefits; however, the position is limited in duration, depending on available funding or business need. Responsibilities Collaborating with internal and external partners to support successful grant project execution. Coordinating and facilitating project meetings, activities, and follow‑up. Preparing financial reimbursement packages and project progress reports. Maintaining accurate grant and project documentation. Monitoring project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure requirements and deadlines are met. Developing materials to communicate project activities, progress, and status. Assisting with other grant project coordination and administrative needs. What We’re Looking For Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of grant processes, particularly grant compliance requirements. Ability to collaborate and coordinate effectively with a variety of partners, audiences, and organizations. Basic understanding of financial and accounting processes and systems. Strong meeting facilitation and coordination skills. Ability to work effectively in stressful environments, including post‑disaster recovery situations. Strong attention to detail with the ability to think systematically and manage multiple priorities at once. Qualifications Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university with a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required. Equivalency is based on one (1) year of professional experience equaling one year of college work. Three (3) years of experience in research or public administration, including experience in grant administration, grant management, grant coordination, obtaining funding for grant projects and programs, and grant writing required. One (1) year of professional experience may be equivalent to a combination of education and experience. Possess reliable transportation to be able to work at various locations as needed and required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
