Family Medicine with OB - Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU SOM) - Decatur, IL

Position Overview

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (SIU SOM) seeks a Family Medicine Physician with Obstetrics to join our Decatur Residency Program and affiliated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This faculty position offers a meaningful mix of clinical care, teaching, and community engagement - serving a diverse patient population while mentoring residents and medical students.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide both outpatient and inpatient family medicine, including obstetrical care.

* Supervise and teach residents and medical students in clinic and hospital settings.

* Lead teaching rounds on hospitalized and OB patients.

* Participate in academic activities such as lectures, seminars, and conferences.

* Serve on departmental, residency, and hospital committees and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

* Support and participate in research and scholarly projects.

Qualifications

* MD or DO degree.

* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.

* Graduate of an accredited Family Medicine Residency Program.

* Licensed or eligible for licensure in Illinois.

* DEA license (or eligibility) required.

* Commitment to serving multicultural and underserved populations.

* Willingness to participate in inpatient and obstetrical call.
