Phlebotomist 1

We’re growing fast and looking for a Phlebotomist 1 to help donors and patients while advancing your career. This Is What You'll Do Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP). Maintain high levels of customer service and a positive donor experience. Keep work area clean and professional. Confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality. Set up and prepare all equipment and disposable supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis. Label each unit and sample accurately. Execute venipunctures and plasma collection, maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, respond to alarms and alerts, and document any exceptions. Monitor donor conditions, ensuring comfort, safety, and product quality. Disconnect donors and dispose of biohazard waste and contaminated equipment per safety protocols. Calibrate and maintain automated machines daily, weekly, and monthly; replace equipment when needed. Document all necessary records, including machine logs. Report unsafe situations and conditions to management. Stock and replenish inventory on plasma carts. Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance. Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and perform routine quality checks. Perform other job-related tasks as assigned. This Is What It Takes High school diploma or GED required. Appropriate certification or licensing based on state requirements. Minimum three (3) months’ experience in a medical or healthcare environment or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Completed training documentation appropriate for duties before independent work. Strong customer service skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal protocols. Basic computer knowledge and skills. Accurate and complete documentation ability. Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Demonstrated consistency and reliability (good attendance, punctuality, full effort, schedule flexibility). Availability to work daytime, evening hours, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts. Ability to perform venipuncture. Effective communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift, tug, or pull up to thirty‑five pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel. Ability to use all required personal protective equipment. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Ability to view a video display terminal within 18 inches of the face for extended periods. Tolerance for working up to four (4) hours at a time in a cool environment. Ability to perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills.
