Assembler – Harness & Cables

Location: Longwood, FL
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM–2:00 PM
Pay Rate: $15.00–$20.00+/hour DOE

Position Summary

The Assembler – Harness & Cables is responsible for assembling, wiring, terminating, testing, and inspecting electrical wire harnesses and cable assemblies according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions. The role requires strong attention to detail, good hand dexterity, and the ability to work with small electrical components and precision tools.

Essential Duties

• Assemble wire harnesses, cable assemblies, connectors, and electrical components.
• Read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly drawings.
• Measure, cut, strip, route, and terminate wires and cables.
• Crimp terminals, pins, and connectors using appropriate tools.
• Install connectors, terminals, backshells, heat shrink, and labels.
• Perform continuity and basic electrical testing using multimeters and cable testers.
• Inspect assemblies for proper routing, labeling, termination, and workmanship.
• Identify and correct wiring errors, improper crimps, and assembly defects.
• Perform rework and repairs as needed.
• Maintain production and inspection documentation.
• Follow ESD, quality, safety, and material-handling procedures.
• Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with wire harnesses, cable assemblies, electrical assembly, or electronics preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly drawings.
• Experience with wire stripping, cutting, crimping, and electrical termination preferred.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and electrical test equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, hand dexterity, and fine motor skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with electrical connectors, terminals, pins, and backshells.
• Experience with continuity and electrical testing.
• Soldering and electrical rework experience.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, telecommunications, or industrial manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ESD procedures and quality-controlled manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive precision assembly.
• Ability to work with small wires, connectors, and components.
• Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
• Ability to use hand tools and wear required PPE.
