We are currently seeking a candidate for the Regional Truck Driver role.Job SummaryThe First Shift Regional Truck Driver is considered a "slip-seat" position, where the driver will share a truck with a First Shift Driver. This role is responsible for delivering and/or picking up bulk/packaged material from suppliers or to customers in a safe and fuel-efficient manner. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to the following:Essential ResponsibilitiesI. Delivering/Pick-Up Of MaterialsThe majority of loads in this role are drop & hookDeliver and/or pickup bulk/packaged material from suppliers or to customers in a safe, legal, and fuel-efficient manner, while exercising good judgment regarding weather and road conditionsDrivers are required to assist in the loading and unloading of trailersLoading of trailers requires the ability to climb ladders, roll tarps back on top of the trailers, as well as the ability to climb into the back of the trailersDrivers must be able to drop and hook a trailer, which requires disconnecting hoses and cranking trailer landing gear up and downII. PaperworkMaintain accurate log book via onboard ELD according to ICC regulations, Driver's Trip Record, and fuel reportsIII. CommunicationInspect truck and trailer for defects before and after trips and inform maintenance of any defects or issuesCoordinate with Dispatcher to set up trucking scheduleProvide feedback regarding changes in scheduling, delivery, pick-up or unloading timesIV.
