Human Services Paid Summer Intern

Job Overview Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is seeking Direct Support Professionals to work with youth during the summer school break. The role offers opportunities for internship credit and professional growth in the behavioral health field. Pay range: $20.50 to $23.87 per hour, depending on education and experience. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Locations: Rutland, Paxton, Webster, or Fitchburg, MA. Responsibilities Be passionate about working with and helping youth. Ensure the safety and security of all assigned youth by providing direct supervision. Provide therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment. Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement. Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and living skills. Maintain adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports. Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older; exceptions may be considered for 20‑year‑olds. Valid driver’s license required. High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, or behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred. Must be able to attend a 2‑week paid orientation, Monday‑Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM, in Rutland, MA. Benefits Eligible employees are eligible to start benefits after 30 days of employment.
