Assistant Event Manager

Assistant Event Manager Provide on‑site operational and logistical planning support forevents held but not limited to the Rice‑Eccles Stadium and Jon M.Huntsman to help ensure a smooth, organized and wellexecution of the event. Responsibilities include assisting withevent planning logistics, proper event execution, updating signage,and handling all other duties as assigned. Assist with setup,teardown, and coordination with vendors and staff during liveevents. Responsibilities 1. Plans, coordinates and follows-through with details for specialevents including social activities, conferences, educationalseminars, receptions, etc. 2. Maintains a financial accounting and cost analysis report foreach individual event. May monitor financial records for donationsand grants. 3. Manages events on‑site and provides assistance to attendees andfaculty members. 4. Assists supervisors in evaluating program effectiveness andmaking adjustments for future events. 5. Responds to questions and phone calls from event participants,faculty members, etc. Makes travel arrangements for visitors. 6. Maintains files, records and a computer database on eventdetails and participants. 7. Makes physical arrangements such as scheduling, catering,creating advertising materials, transportation, ordering eventsupplies and equipment, compiling course materials, etc. 8. May participate in the preparation of accreditation reports andreviews. 9. May oversee the activities of clerical support staff as theyrelate to specific events. 10. May manage office supplies and equipment and act as a liaisonwith vendors. Minimum Qualifications Requires little to no related experience. Preferences Preferred 1 year of Event planning experience. Customer Serviceexperience. Ability to work within a team environment. Must be ableto work late evenings, holidays and weekends as needed per events.Experience with Microsoft and Adobe programs.
