Ultrasound Technologist

Perform ultrasound examinations accurately and within established procedures and routines Image, record, and process examination images Obtain and document complete patient histories related to ordered procedures Obtain informed consent according to departmental policy Explain procedures to patients within scope of practice Maintain communication with radiologists regarding unusual findings, history, test results, and implications Ensure physician orders are entered accurately and clarify questionable orders Maintain quality control records, ACR accreditation forms, and daily modality logs Check equipment and work areas for operational and safety compliance Follow safety protocols to protect patients and equipment Report potential patient safety issues in Athena Optimize supplies, equipment, and services while controlling costs without compromising care Ensure orders match diagnoses for proper reimbursement Provide patient-centered, compassionate care and advocate for patients Assist coworkers and act as a resource when appropriate Participate in staff meetings and in-services Promote professional development of self and others Represent Millennium Physician Group professionally to the public Requirements Must hold all certifications and licenses related to the scope of practice Ability to work hours or shifts as needed in a PRN position Ability to handle a high-volume, fast-paced environment with a pleasant disposition Proficiency with PACS, eRad, Athena Clinicals, and Communicator Ability to obtain detailed histories for every exam and present them to the radiologist Ability to follow patient and equipment safety protocols Ability to multitask with attention to detail Ability to read and respond to manager communications promptly Knowledge of quality control records, ACR accreditation forms, and daily modality logs Knowledge of occurrence reporting in Athena Ability to communicate effectively with patients and radiologists Ability to accurately verify physician orders and diagnoses Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing ultrasound examinations, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining quality control records.
