Overview Temporary position (9 months or less) – $20.00 per hour. Employment dates: 03/07/2026 through 11/07/2026. Department & Program Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) – State Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Program. The ANS Program safeguards Colorado’s water recreation areas from invasive species such as zebra and quagga mussels. Job Responsibilities Support the ANS Program through watercraft inspection, decontamination, and quality control at various reservation and reservoir locations. Provide public outreach to non‑motorized water recreation groups and distribute printed educational materials at events. Assist the Program Manager and Specialists with inventory management, technical report editing, supply distribution, and data entry when shift coverage is not required. Travel & Schedule Minimum responsibilities may require overnight travel and daily driving over long distances. Early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work are required. Minimum Qualifications Excellent driving record and ability to travel extensively with overnight stays. Ability to drive long distances and remain alert. Availability to work weekends, holidays, early morning, and late evenings. Willingness to be flexible with daily/weekly scheduling due to weather. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; approach and engage the public. Reliable and timely. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to self‑motivate and work independently. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, and heavy equipment. Ability to travel and be away from home every week; camping may be required in remote settings (provide own gear). Ability to trailer boats and cleaning units on highways and steep mountain roads. Excellent customer service skills. Experience with Microsoft and Google applications. Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences or higher education. Fleet & Driving Compliance Workers expected to drive a state‑owned vehicle must maintain a safe driving record and a valid driver license. Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for workers with an assigned state fleet vehicle, required vehicle operation, or pool vehicle use.
