RN - PCU

Registered Nurse

Nursing staff will provide care in a stepdown unit. The unit has 26 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5. Central telemonitoring is available. Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, and Afib with RVR. Nursing does not mix medications. An electronic medical record (EMR) system is in use. The shift schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts. There is a weekend requirement every other weekend. Holidays will be worked every other holiday. All staff are expected to float to other units as needed. Support from a hospitalist is available during daytime hours. Pharmacy support is accessible 24/7. No vents are managed on the unit, but Bipap, Cpap, and HF/Vapotherm are utilized. Nurse aides are available for assistance.
