Physical Therapist AssistantIndiana Fitness Works in Portland, Indiana at Persimmon Ridge. Requirements: Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. The program must be accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. Display evidence of interest in continuing education within the profession PTA reports directly to immediate supervisory PT.Typical Physical Demands: Assistant assigned must be able to perform the following physical job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.Lift up to 10lbs overhead occasionallyLift up to 50lbs from floor to knuckle occasionallyLift up to 25lbs from knuckle to shoulder occasionallyPivot transfer up to 150lbs occasionallyCarry up to 50lbs, 200ft frequentlyPush/pull 75lbs, 100ft frequentlyFine hand manipulation, bilaterally continuouslyHeavy grasp, bilaterally frequentlyVisually acuity connect to 20/20Tactile discriminationStand up to 2 hours frequentlyComprehensible verbal communication skills continuouslyDrive up to 2 hoursLegible written communication continuouslySquat, stoop, or kneel up to 15 minutes occasionallySit up to 2 hours occasionallyTypical Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and medical preparations.Duties:Conduct treatment plans as established by PT under supervision of PTCommunicate with PT, rehab team members and/or referring physician regarding patients treatment programMaintain weekly (objective) progress notes, following documentation guidelinesMaintain accurate daily attendance recordsComplete daily time logs, modality sheets, Medicare logs, change slips and any other required paperworkSupervise supportive staff in clerical and transporting duties as assignedMust follow all established policies and procedures of the companyCommunicate the Physical Therapist's designed plan of care to physicianThe assistant will also take a telephone order from the physician to certify that plan of care or change the plan of care. The telephone order will then be co-signed by the supervising therapist.* Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or have a Medical or Religious Exemption to be employed by Indiana Fitness Works.*FULL TIME employees may be eligible for benefits.
