Outpatient Psychiatrist Position

Location: Phoenix, AZ

We are currently seeking a full-time Outpatient Attending Psychiatrist to join our adult Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (F-ACT) team. This team operates from a newly established outpatient clinic located on the campus of the Valleywise Behavioral & Mental Health Center, which includes an inpatient psychiatric hospital with an emergency department in Maryvale, AZ. The F-ACT team delivers comprehensive services to individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) who have insurance coverage, providing community-based treatment to those facing significant challenges.

• Work within a multidisciplinary, recovery-focused care team serving up to 100 patients, ensuring manageable caseloads and tailored treatment plans.
• Collaborate with a diverse team that includes:
• Psychiatrist
• Clinical Coordinator
• Two Nurses
• Medical Assistant
• Case Management Specialists
• Peer Support Specialist
• Education & Employment Specialist
• Substance Use Specialist
• Housing Specialist
• Two Administrative Team Members
• Provide individualized, patient-centered, and recovery-oriented services.

This role offers a faculty appointment for eligible candidates with both the Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix and the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix. Teaching is a vital aspect of this position, which includes:

• Supervision and education of PGY-3 and PGY-4 Adult Psychiatry Residents.
• Mentorship and teaching of medical students.
• Active participation in an academic clinical setting.

This position is ideal for those interested in merging clinical practice with medical education and academic involvement.

• MD, DO, or an equivalent degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, with an Arizona license required prior to employment.
