Senior Cloud Software Engineer - Rockledge

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a Bachelors degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience, or 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• We need experience delivering and deploying cloud-based applications and services, along with strong knowledge of software development best practices.
• We are looking for hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices in Kubernetes-based environments such as EKS or OpenShift.
• We value knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and experience with containerized workloads, databases, and object storage in cloud environments.
• We require the ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust clearance.
• Preferred: 5 years of cloud software development experience.
• Preferred: 5 years of object-oriented programming experience in Java, C++, or Python.
• Preferred: 3 years of Java development experience, including Web Services, JMS, application servers, and JavaScript development with deep knowledge of NodeJS or ReactJS.
• Preferred: 3 years of experience building applications that use relational and NoSQL databases.
• Preferred: Experience with DevOps tools and practices such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.
• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Associate or Professional, or a similar certification for another cloud provider.
• Preferred: Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, XML, REST and SOAP web services, scripting languages such as Python and Bash, and writing well-designed, testable, efficient code.
• Preferred: Experience verifying that designs comply with specifications and coaching others to do the same.

• We develop cloud-based applications and configure deployment environments to achieve end-to-end integration between cloud and non-cloud components.
• We implement applications that satisfy program requirements and align with our cloud technology vision and roadmap.
• We coordinate with development teams and customers to review designs and estimates, including documenting risks, assumptions, and limitations.
• We apply DevOps concepts and best practices to build and continuously improve automated build, test, and deployment environments.
• We provide operational support for applications and tools to meet high availability and other service-level agreements.
• We collaborate across cross-functional teams to define requirements, software architectures, APIs, serverless frameworks, and libraries.
• We support fast prototyping, research commercial off-the-shelf products for integration, and implement and deploy solutions to meet requirements.
