Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit Float Pool position requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience, ACLS, and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient float pool position serving all Progressive Care Units (PCU/Stepdown) within a large academic medical center
• Float coverage spans Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center PCUs
• May also float to acute care units as needed
• PCU patient ratios are 1:3, with a maximum of 1:4; acute care float assignments carry a 1:5 ratio
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Every other holiday (EOH) required
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact license valid for NC practice
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process across a variety of progressive care settings
• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Incorporates patient and family education, discharge planning, and culturally sensitive care into practice
• Participates in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
• Drug screen results are required prior to start; candidates should be prepared to report to the lab promptly upon committing to the role
