This volunteer position is pivotal in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. The successful candidate will be the primary custodian of the company's financial resources, ensuring they are maximized for the welfare of the cats in their care. Responsibilities include financial oversight, tactical bookkeeping, strategic planning, and serving as a liaison with the external accounting firm for tax filings and audits. The role demands a hands-on approach, with a focus on both long-term financial strategy and day-to-day fiscal operations. Applicants for the Treasurer position at the company should have a strong background in accounting, finance, or a related field, with several years of experience. A CPA or nonprofit accounting experience is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, capable of financial modeling, budgeting, and interpreting complex financial data. Above all, a genuine love for cats and a passion for the mission of the organization are essential. The Treasurer will work closely with the Executive Director, Board, and Shelter Director to develop and implement financial plans that support the company's growth and sustainability.
