Financial Management Specialist

Responsibilities The Financial Management Specialist will assist higher‑grade analysts, auditors, and other specialists in performing accounting, financial analysis, and related administrative work. Requirements Position is open to recent graduates who completed an academic program within the last 2 years. If appointed under this program, a prescribed number of work and training hours must be completed before conversion to a term or permanent appointment. To qualify for the GS‑7 level, applicants must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience GS‑7: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑05 in federal service, including assisting with financial functions, developing financial reports, and utilizing financial systems. Education (Graduate level) GS‑7: One full year of graduate‑level education demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; 18 semester hours is considered one year. Education (Superior Academic Achievement) GS‑7: A bachelor’s degree with curriculum related to this position plus superior academic achievement: upper third of class, GPA 3.0+ (or 3.5+ in major), or national scholastic honor society membership (excluding freshman societies). Combination GS‑7: A combination of education and specialized experience totaling at least 100% (efficiently calculated).
