Clinical Technician Position

Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician on the Medical Surgical Unit to join the team. This role will be full time night shift, Monday - Friday, rotating weekends; 7PM - 7.30AM.

Clinical Technician 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
• Effectively communicates with health team members, patients and families; Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
• Assists unit leadership with overseeing other unit Clinical Technician education records.
• Has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
• Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.
• Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
• Assumes responsibility for self-development in life long learning and seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift: Night (7pm - 7.30am) Schedule: Days Vary - Three 12 hour shifts Training: Ideal candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training course.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-year acute care experience as a Clinical Tech or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program and/or 2 years of nursing school
• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Special Skills: Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills required.
