I. NATURE OF POSITION

A. The Middle School Coach shall be directly responsible to the building principal, but will work through the Activities Director in carrying out his/her assignments. B. The Middle School Coach shall help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, physical development, and knowledge of the game.

II. TYPICAL DUTIES

A. Work with the Activities Director in scheduling practices and contests. B. Coach individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.

III. PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

A. Have a specialized preparation emphasizing the coaching of the respective sport. B. Have a fundamental knowledge of the care and prevention of athletic injuries and training programs. C. Hold a current Standard First Aid Card.
