Technical Assistant & Operations Manager

Description The Technical Assistant & Operations Manager will operate as a strategic integrator, trusted advisor, and operational leader across the Enterprise Operations (EO) Communications function. This role will be operationally aligned within the newly established Chief Public Affairs Office (CPAO) operations structure and report to the Chief Communications Officer’s Technical Assistant to ensure enterprise consistency, collaboration and integration across communications priorities. In partnership with this structure, the individual will directly support the Vice President of Corporate Communications & Branding and the Vice President of Corporate Affairs & International Communications as a dedicated force multiplier for their organizations and leadership priorities. This is a high-impact position designed to drive alignment, execution, and momentum across a complex portfolio of priorities. The individual will play a central role in advancing strategic initiatives, strengthening operational rigor, and ensuring that key efforts are delivered with precision and speed. By enabling senior leaders to focus on the highest-value activities, this role directly contributes to the effectiveness and influence of the broader communications organization. Key Responsibilities Serve as the central integrator across EO Communications priorities, ensuring alignment, visibility, and execution against key initiatives Lead and manage business rhythms, including leadership team meetings, strategic planning sessions, and cross-functional coordination forums Drive end-to-end execution of strategic projects, developing and managing detailed plans to ensure accountability and on-time delivery Oversee day-to-day operational execution, including meeting preparation, staffing, and follow-through on key actions Develop high-quality materials and communications for senior leadership and external stakeholders Act as a key liaison between Communications and organizations across the enterprise Conduct organizational sensing to identify emerging priorities, risks, and opportunities Establish and continuously improve processes, tools, and operating cadences to enhance team effectiveness Serve as a connective thread across teams, reducing silos and enabling more effective information flow and decision-making Basic Qualifications Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, including media relations, executive communications, employee engagement, and marketing Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats and audiences Strong project management capabilities with a proven ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously High level of ownership, sound judgment, and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with a solutions-oriented mindset 8+ years of related experience Desired Skills Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders Experience driving cross-functional alignment and influencing without direct authority Strong executive presence with a high degree of professionalism and discretion Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, identify gaps, and implement solutions independently Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-visibility environments Location and Travel Travel required. Preferred location is Bethesda, MD or must be able to work from a major Lockheed Martin facility. Schedule 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week. Pay and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $106,100 - $187,105. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $122,000 - $211,485. This position is incentive plan eligible.
