Onsite Sr. Lab Technician

The Opportunity Position in Cambridge, MA reporting to the Supervisor of Onsite Services and teaming with Avantor’s Lab and Production Services staff to perform customized lab work and research protocols that support scientific endeavors. Location & Hours Cambridge, MA | Mon – Fri | 8am – 4pm | Hourly pay $27–$29 | Expected annual pay $50,000 – $80,500 (pre‑tax). Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision and wellness programs (medical coverage starts Day1) Paid Time Off and company paid holidays Flexible Spending Account, Health Savings Account and commuter benefits 401(k), tuition assistance and employee stock purchase plan discount Critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident, legal, identity theft protection; pet, auto and home insurance Recognition program for peer awards and gift redemption Qualifications High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field strongly preferred 3+ years lab experience or equivalent scientific degree Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel Experience handling, shipping and preparing samples for testing and analysis Ability to maintain a clean, sterile workspace Organizational skills for cataloging, inventory tracking and sample labeling Detail‑oriented with strict adherence to safety guidelines and Good Laboratory Practices Experienced in writing, reviewing and revising Standard Operating Procedures Knowledge of operating in an aseptic environment and awareness of chemical hazards Excellent time‑management, communication and customer‑service skills Ability to prioritize tasks, meet goals and follow all safety, security and background‑check requirements Responsibilities Execute routine laboratory support procedures and prepare daily operations in Sample Management Process samples of dry and solution compounds and fulfill special requests accurately Receive and track packages, storing compounds under correct conditions Archive or dispose of samples in accordance with inventory protocols Prepare samples for international and domestic shipping Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment including balances, automated stores, liquid handling devices, sonicator and water bath Track key performance indicators and maintain lab inventory Operate Echo acoustic liquid handler (preferred) and comply with DOT/IATA certification (preferred) Ensure overall laboratory cleanliness and safety compliance Additional Requirements Background checks, security clearances and medical examinations required Perform all duties with the highest regard for safety and quality We are an Equal Employment / Affiantive Action employer and VEVRAA Federal Contractor.
