We are seeking a Master Data Management & Operations Director to establish, lead, and continuously evolve a comprehensive MDM and data stewardship function that supports critical business domains, improves data quality, and drives enterprise-wide data governance adoption.

In this role, you will combine strategic leadership with operational execution, overseeing the development of MDM capabilities, stewardship processes, data quality programs, governance frameworks, and cross-functional partnerships. You will play a critical role in advancing data maturity, improving operational efficiency, and enabling trusted data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

MDM Strategy & Capability Development

\n

\n
• Define and execute the Master Data Management strategy, roadmap, operating model, and adoption framework.
\n
• Establish scalable MDM capabilities supporting key business domains including Product, Customer, Advisor, Party, Account, Contract, and Reference Data.
\n
• Develop long-term plans that align data management initiatives with business transformation goals.
\n
• Drive enterprise adoption of standardized master data practices and governance processes.
\n

Organizational Leadership & Team Development

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team focused on:

Data Governance & Stewardship

\n

• Establish data ownership models, stewardship responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability structures.
\n
• Develop governance processes supporting business definitions, critical data elements, hierarchies, reference data, and master data domains.
\n
• Lead stewardship activities across core business domains and ensure adherence to established standards.
\n
• Facilitate governance forums and stewardship reviews that drive business engagement and accountability.
\n

Master Data Operations

\n

\n
• Oversee day-to-day operations supporting master data maintenance and issue management.
\n
• Establish repeatable processes for:
\n
• Data issue intake
\n
• Triage and prioritization
\n
• Root cause analysis
\n
• Remediation planning
\n
• Business escalation
\n
• Resolution tracking
\n
• Maintain stewardship playbooks, business glossaries, ownership records, and operational documentation.

• Ensure master data processes remain efficient, scalable, and business aligned.

Data Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Define and implement data quality frameworks, controls, scorecards, thresholds, and monitoring processes.
\n
• Establish KPIs and domain health metrics that measure data reliability and business trust.
\n
• Drive improvements in:

• Partner with technology, architecture, engineering, and implementation teams to support MDM platform initiatives.

• Define business requirements for:

• Survivorship Logic

• Hierarchies
\n
• Workflows
\n
• Governance Controls
\n
• Support platform implementation, testing, operational readiness, and ongoing enhancement.

• Ensure business and operational requirements are incorporated into technology solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Leadership

• Collaborate closely with business leaders, technology teams, and data stakeholders across the organization.
\n
• Lead communication, training, and adoption initiatives supporting governance and stewardship programs.
\n
• Build consensus around data standards, ownership responsibilities, and MDM priorities.
\n
• Promote organizational awareness of the value of trusted and governed master data.
\n

Reporting & Executive Communication

• Develop executive dashboards and reporting that measure:

Required Qualifications

\n

• 8+ years of experience in:
\n
• Master Data Management (MDM)
\n
• Data Governance
\n
• Data Stewardship
\n
• Data Quality Management
\n
• Information Management
\n
• Related Data Management Functions
\n
• 3+ years of people leadership experience managing and developing teams.
\n
• 3+ years of experience building, scaling, or operating MDM, governance, stewardship, or data quality programs.
\n
• Strong understanding of enterprise data management principles and governance frameworks.
\n
• Experience driving cross-functional initiatives and stakeholder alignment.
\n
• Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.
\n
