*INCREASED* Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour, plus $155.00 a day per diem, non-local
Job Description
Installs, aligns, and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers, and micrometers. lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection, such as shafting and steam lines.
Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and rudder and steering engine assemblies.
Basic Qualifications
Prior Shipyard experience, a minimum of 4 years of experience as an outside machinist.
