Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN) - Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine Clinic

This position is sign-on bonus eligible if the candidate meets organization qualifications.

The LPN provides patient centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic according to established scope of practice guidelines and standards of care.

Job Requirements:

• 
  Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing
  
  

• 
  Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
  
  

• 
  Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update medical information.
  
  



• 
  Collect specimens and perform basic laboratory testing using infection control standards.
  
  



• 
  Assist providers with exams, procedures, and minor surgeries.
  
  



• 
  Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and IV therapy as permitted.
  
  



• 
  Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care, referrals, appointments, and prescription refills.
  
  



• 
  Document patient information and communicate effectively with providers and care team members.
  
  



• 
  Perform advanced clinical procedures such as EKGs, phlebotomy, spirometry, wound care, catheterization, and suture/staple removal, as trained and supervised.
  
  



• 
  Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.
  
  



• 
  Perform equipment maintenance, sterilization, and quality checks.
  
  



• 
  Support quality improvement, patient-centered care, and care management initiatives.
  
  



• 
  Deliver age-appropriate care while assessing and addressing the unique needs of patients across the lifespan.
  
  

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• 
  Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.
  
  



• 
  Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.
  
  



• 
  Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
