Overview Unit: Acute Care Cardiology (ACCU) Shifts: Rotating (days or nights) Hours: 12‑hour shifts (7:00a.m. to 7:30p.m. or 7:00p.m. to 7:30a.m.) Location: Burnet Campus Schedule: Part time, 0.6 FTE (24 weekly hours) Expected Starting Pay Range: $17.49 – $20.99 per hour (annualized pay may vary based on FTE status) Job Responsibilities Clerical Duties : Operates and maintains unit information systems, ensuring medical record integrity, forms management, prompt response to faxes, printed material, mail, and accuracy of patient data; completes admissions, discharges, transfers, and short‑stay documentation in a timely manner; demonstrates fiscal responsibility for patient charges, rental equipment, CCHMC charge capture procedures, and maintains a designated par level of clerical supplies. Environmental Management : Ensures all unit areas are organized and present a safe, accessible, efficient environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees; monitors traffic flow at the front desk and on the unit; assists with compliance of visitor policies, applies arm bands for parents/caregivers; reports maintenance needs (e.g., wiping down monitors, troubleshooting printer issues) and follows up to assure completion; collaborates with clinical, admitting, information systems, and environmental services staff to coordinate efficient patient flow. Systems Management : Identifies system problems and applies resolution strategies; responds to communication system and patient alarms with a sense of urgency; reviews and revises staffing information. Communication : Demonstrates Cincinnati Children’s CARES behaviors in all interactions; actively provides extraordinary customer service and satisfaction; interacts with parents/guardians to obtain non‑clinical information as requested; ensures timeliness, accuracy, availability, and security of information including HIPAA, informed consent, and advanced directives for patients 18 or older. Operational Support : Provides daily operational/administrative support for the unit and outpatient services; functions as a resource for clinical personnel regarding unit and outpatient operational issues; anticipates departmental needs and coordinates information systems, environmental, admitting, and clerical functions for a medical center dedicated to the care of infants, children, and adolescents. Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. No directly related experience required. Ability to work rotating shifts (days or nights) in a 12‑hour schedule. Regular full‑time equivalent of 0.6 (24 weekly hours).
