Lab Assistant - Hematology

Labcorp

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for hematology work in Birmingham, Alabama. The role involves receiving and processing clinical specimens, maintaining lab equipment, and performing data entry in a fast-paced environment. Tuesday–Saturday shifts from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM.

Responsibilities

Receive, sort, and prepare clinical lab specimens for testing
Scan and enter specimen and patient information into systems
Monitor lab equipment functionality and perform minor maintenance
Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and maintain test bench supplies
Maintain clean, safe work environment and complete administrative documentation

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Comfort handling biological specimens
Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
Ability to work independently and in teams
High attention to detail with multitasking capability
Pass standardized color blindness test
3+ months specimen processing or laboratory experience (preferred)
