General Manager

A global manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced General Manager to lead operations at one of its production facilities. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing plant performance, managing budgets, supporting operational improvements, and working closely with local and senior leadership teams to achieve business goals. This role requires strong manufacturing experience, financial understanding, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced production environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily plant operations across all departments Lead site teams to achieve safety, quality, cost, delivery, and performance targets Create, manage, and monitor budgets, forecasts, costs, headcount, and capital expenditure Review plant performance and identify opportunities for improvement Develop and implement business plans aligned with company objectives Support new business opportunities, customer requirements, quotes, and presentations Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and standards Monitor and address production issues, line stops, safety concerns, and quality defects Participate in internal audits relating to quality, safety, and environmental systems Promote lean manufacturing, cost reduction, visual management, and continuous improvement Ensure customer satisfaction through strong operational performance Protect company assets and ensure responsible use of resources Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, environmental, and HR policies Profile Requirements Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment At least 5 years’ experience at a management level Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience preferred Strong technical and financial background Experience managing plant budgets, costs, forecasts, and operational KPIs Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing setting Good knowledge of quality, environmental, and lean manufacturing systems Strong computer skills and confidence using reporting tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong leadership and people management skills Hands‑on operational approach Commercial and financial awareness Excellent communication and influencing skills Problem‑solving and analytical thinking Ability to work under pressure Strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction #J-18808-Ljbffr
