Kindergarten Assistant for Fall 2026

Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The Kindergarten assistant, under the direction of the primary teacher, is responsible for assisting in providing quality care in support of the Kindergarten program needs of the school community. The assistant participates in all aspects of classroom work at the direction of the lead teacher, including managing and preparing for classroom activities, supervising children during regular class hours and independent play, preparing snack, housekeeping and classroom care, handwork support, participation and support in story time and circle time (singing, finger games, movement activities), helping children to clean and tidy the classroom, and child observation. Example of Duties Managing and preparing for classroom activities Supervision of children during regular class hours and independent play Preparing snack Housekeeping and upkeep/care of classroom Handwork support Participation and support in story time and circle time (singing, finger games, movement activities) Support in story time and circle time, helping children to clean and tidy the classroom, and child observation Requirements Minimum 200 contact hours with Kindergarten‑age children Experience in a Waldorf Early Childhood classroom At least one week in Waldorf Early Childhood coursework education Hours Hours are from 7:45 am–2:00 pm Monday–Friday during the school year, with occasional weekend or evening duties. Assistants have an additional one hour weekly for mentoring, 20 hours of work before and after the school year, and 20 hours for meetings and/or festival preparations per the lead teacher. Compensation & Benefits The compensation for this position shall be an hourly rate of $21–$23 based on experience.
