The successful candidate will work on a project focused on triple ion beam irradiation experiments to assess the roles of H, He and damage on the microstructure of several candidate fusion reaction blanket materials. Activities will involve conducting irradiations with accelerators in the Michigan Ion Beam Laboratory, and analyzing the irradiated microstructures. Candidates should have a strong background in radiation damage, irradiated microstructure, TEM of irradiated materials, and in materials science with a focus on metallurgy.
