Senior SQL Database Administrator

The Senior SQL DBA will step into a complex, multi-ERP environment and make an immediate difference. You'll work on challenging, real-world data problems digging into code, stabilizing systems, and architecting solutions that bring together financial and operational data across multiple platforms. The team is looking for a true technical expert who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys both strategy and execution. With strong leadership visibility, no existing DBA structure, and the chance to influence how data is managed and accessed, this role offers a unique blend of autonomy, technical depth, and meaningful impact.

Worksite Location: Brooklyn Park, MN - Remote
Hourly Rate: $80-85 DOE

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Analyze, debug, and optimize complex SQL code across multiple systems
• Architect and support data solutions spanning four ERP systems (e.g., QAD, IQMS)
• Consolidate and manage financial and operational data across systems
• Develop and maintain ETL processes using SSIS and related tools
• Work within SSMS to manage and troubleshoot SQL Server environments
• Provide DBA-level support (currently no dedicated DBA on the team)
• Design and potentially build lightweight user interfaces/web pages to enable data access for business users
• Partner with Business Intelligence resources to improve configuration and deepen system capabilities
• Support the broader IT organization with data architecture and programming needs
• Ensure systems and processes align with FDA compliance and regulated industry standards

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience in SQL development and database architecture
• Strong expertise in:
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Oracle SQL
  • SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
  • SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
• Proven ability to work at an architectural level while remaining hands-on in code
• Experience in regulated industries (e.g., FDA-compliant environments, manufacturing, medical, etc.)
• Strong understanding of data extraction, transformation, and consolidation across ERP systems
• Experience working with multiple ERP platforms (QAD, IQMS, or similar preferred)
• Familiarity with Linux environments and progressive SQL programming
• Ability to identify and resolve real-time data and system issues
• Strong cross-functional communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience building simple web-based interfaces or front-end tools for data access
• Background supporting financial data consolidation across systems
• Prior experience stepping into environments without existing DBA structure
• Exposure to business intelligence tools and data modeling concepts
