Direct Support Professionals

NCI Affiliates / Achievement House is a respected non-profit organization dedicated to empowering adults with developmental disabilities throughout California’s Central Coast, with locations in Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Atascadero, Paso Robles, and Salinas. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to achieve greater independence, develop adaptive living skills, and participate fully in their communities. Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and training to adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities across various agency sites and programs.
• Promote independence, inclusion, and skill development through vocational training, education, and adaptive living skills programs.
• Maintain a courteous, positive, and professional demeanor when interacting with individuals served and the community.
• Assist with documentation, including transportation records, attendance, job coach notes, objective sheets, incident/accident reports, time studies, and case management paperwork.
• Demonstrate flexibility by supporting multiple worksites and adapting to different program needs as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
• Ongoing proof of current state-required auto insurance.
• Ability to pass required fingerprint background checks through the California Department of Justice and the FBI.
• Successful completion of First Aid/CPR training (training provided onsite).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, resourcefulness, and sound decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and motivate others.

Compensation

$23.00 – $23.50 per hour plus a $250 sign-on bonus.
