Core Competencies Partnerships Growth mindset Results oriented Customer focused Professionalism Reporting Relations Accountable to and reports to: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations and eCommerce Manages: Night Stock Employees Primary Duties and Responsibilities Maintain a positive attitude, create an atmosphere of friendliness and teamwork. Set department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance and overall profitability. Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to customers, greet them at entry and throughout store. Assist customers by escorting, loading/unloading heavy items, addressing name requests, and enhancing shopping experience. Answer telephone calls promptly and provide friendly service. Order products from warehouse: pre‑orders, grocery for dock, non‑foods, supplies; prepare per‑orders; coordinate with assistant managers; assign duties to part‑time employees. Supervise night stock crew: assign duties, conduct consultations, train new employees. Coordinate CARS system: set up, inventory each section of sub‑dock, understock, back‑stock, set triggers for reordering, maintenance, remove damage and mix picks, remove inventory used by departments, generate and review orders. Unload trucks, break down pallets, match pallets to aisles, sort items from warehouse as needed. Check vendor deliveries piece by piece (e.g., Lomar check‑in, bread, chips). Supervise drop shipments and direct store deliveries. Write schedule for night stock; monitor time‑off, vacation, sick call‑ins; review overtime hours. Train new employees on facing, pull‑downs, order tags, UPC, checking, sacking, stocking. Train supervisors on register handling, customer service, and department services. Monitor productivity and review individually with crew members. Understand and troubleshoot repair of store equipment including electrical and cash register systems, coolers, compressors, machine room, display cases. Adhere to company policies and guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress. Report to work on time and when scheduled. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Run back‑stock and under‑stock (cereal, paper, juice, fill holes as needed). Assist with customer service: check‑out, checking, sacking, carry‑outs; handle cash accountability, day‑end reports, register closes, opens. Handle and satisfy customer issues in person and on phone. Meet with crew members weekly or as needed. Set and reset new items and tags, price as needed; set in‑store specials; price using cost‑plus percentage or ad price. Supervise produce and frozen food trucks while unloading, ensuring correct coolers. Assist in other areas of store as needed. Perform other job related duties and special projects as required. Supervisory Responsibilities Instruct, assign, review, and plan work of others; maintain standards; allocate personnel; coordinate activities. Select new employees and address employee problems. Recommend transfers, promotions, discipline, and discharge; recommend salary increases. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization. Execute arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages. Compose original correspondence; interpret written instructions; interview applicants; follow technical manuals; maintain contact with people. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Three to five years of similar or related work experience. Physical Requirements Must be able to physically perform heavy work, including exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and, in excess of 100 pounds of force to move objects. Must be able to lift or carry objects up to 10 pounds occasionally, stand or walk, reach, handle, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to see detail at near range with or without correction. Working Conditions Occasional exposure to noise, vibrations, equipment movement hazard, chemicals/solvents, and frequently to dirt. Equipment Used to Perform Job Computer, compressor, C.A.R.S. system, power jack, compactor, check register, forklift, scales, Tomra machines, two‑wheeler, box cutter. Financial Responsibility Cash registers, pre‑orders and regular orders, inventory, CARS system and its orders, pricing items/books, and received deliveries. Contacts Daily contact with suppliers/vendors and customers. Compensation Estimated hourly starting wage: $18.00 to $22.50, depending on experience.
