How youll contribute

A Diabetes Educator who excels in this role:

• Independently writes communicates and implements teaching interventions for patients families significant others.

• Delivers educational material using teaching principals and a variety of formats for new pediatric inpatients and outpatients in group and individual sessions.
• Delivers educational material appropriate for identified needs utilizing knowledge of growth and development for outpatients in group and individual sessions.
• Assists to maintain diabetes supplies.
• Provides back up and assists other staff as necessary.

What were looking for

• Minimum Education Associates Degree in Nursing OR Bachelors degree in Dietetics

• *Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.

• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP);
• Registered Dietitian Certification OR Registered Nurse (RN);
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) (within 2 years of hire)
