Registered Nurse I Outpatient Infusion

This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings. Days: ECB – Outpatient Infusion minimum 6 shifts per schedule. No weekends, no holidays, no on‑call shifts. Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Job Summary The Registered Nurse I assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. Minimum Education Completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom. Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Valid multi‑state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License. Work Experience 0–6 months related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of general disease‑state management processes, the bio‑psychosocial model, and clinical pathways. Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Attention to detail in the examination of clinical and numerical data. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients. Assesses patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors and organizes care accordingly. Documents steps of the nursing process and uses proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and tracks progress toward care goals. Facilitates patient discharge through timely referrals and education resources appropriate to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and hospital goals through participation in performance improvement and educational activities. Decision Making Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives subject to general review at final stages. Working Relationship Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise); leads others in same work performed (does not supervise); works directly with patients and/or customers; works with internal and external customers via telephone or face‑to‑face interaction; works with other healthcare professionals and staff; works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
