What You Will Do Assist in supervising the care and maintenance of grounds and lawns within the assigned zones to include weed eradication, grass trimming, mowing, shrub and tree maintenance and removal as well as athletic fields and grounds. Ensures grounds maintenance standards and compliance standards are being upheld. Assist grounds foreman in providing leadership as requires including providing and directing work assignments, serving as liaison and point of contact for Grounds Workers within assigned zone, reviews work performances and workload. Trains and supervises assigned student workers. Serves as back up to assist grounds foreman with employee assignments and grounds outside of assigned zones. Assists in weed eradication and herbicide application, grass trimming and mowing, maintenance and care of shrubs and hedges, tree trimming, tree planting, and tree removal. Ensures campus grounds are free of trash, plant materials, and debris. Coordinates and communicates expectations for snow removal. Assists in related grounds and lawn maintenance as needed. Assist in supervising routine maintenance to grounds equipment including monitoring or assignment of fluid levels. Assists in the supervision of furniture moves for occupied and unoccupied spaces. Assist in supervising the maintenance and installation of water features, waterways and drainage systems and building gutters. Schedule: Monday-Friday including rotating Saturdays. Two positions available: Sub-Foreman covering zones in Edwardsville and Alton Sub-Foreman covering zones in Edwardsville and East St. Louis Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Level 1: Grounds Sub-Foreman CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER -High school diploma or equivalent. -Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in grounds maintenance.
