Phlebotomist

Role & Responsibilities: Assist with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and storage following established procedures. Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously. Demonstrate proper technique using straight or butterfly needles. Ensure accurate matching of requisitions, labeling, and specimen handling, including packaging and temperature storage. Maintain compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations, attend annual training, and manage communication by answering calls and relaying lab results. Contribute to troubleshooting, workflow improvement, and training efforts. Qualifications & Skills: Valid phlebotomy certification as required, with at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and possess a High School Diploma or GED. Reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and mileage reimbursement are necessary due to floating to multiple locations, including Albany and surrounding areas. #J-18808-Ljbffr Black Women's Mental Health Institute
