Ambulatory Hospitality Services Specialist
We are looking for a warm and dedicated Ambulatory Hospitality Services Specialist to join a healthcare facility in the Midwest region. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff alike. You will be part of a supportive team, working in a fast-paced setting where your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will directly impact the quality of care provided.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, including bed making, linen replacement, and restocking supplies.
- Perform thorough cleaning tasks such as disinfecting patient areas, washing windows, scrubbing floors, moving furniture, and changing mattresses as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas like waiting rooms, lobbies, and hallways.
- Care for hospital floors, including carpets and entryways, using appropriate cleaning equipment.
- Operate and maintain floor cleaning machines such as vacuums and carpet cleaners.
- Follow established cleaning protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Replenish supplies in patient rooms and communal spaces as necessary.
- Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests from staff and patients.
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the proper personnel.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.
- Handle hazardous waste, including sharps and biohazardous materials, following proper disposal procedures.
- Demonstrate awareness of infection, electrical, steam, chemical, dust, and environmental hazards and take appropriate precautions.
- Collect and dispose of soiled linens hygienically.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Requirements
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift loads up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Effective time management with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
