Clinical Research Coordinator IThe Clinical Research Coordinator I (CRC I) works under general supervision to support the Cancer Early Detection and Diagnostics (EDDx) research team in enrolling eligible patients to clinical research protocols and manage all aspects of data collection for multiple cancer studies. The CRC I will be responsible for scheduling all protocol mandated tests required to comply with institutional and federal regulations governing clinical research. This position involves a combination of patient coordination and data abstraction and entry. This position involves direct patient contact. The ideal candidate should have the flexibility to commute to multiple locations within the Greater Boston area (MGH Boston, MGH Waltham, Brigham Women's Hospital).Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following job duties will be performed under general supervision by the Clinical Research Manager:Assist clinical team in screening potential patients for study participationSchedule all protocol required tests and proceduresCoordinate patient appointments with physicians, nurses, and all test areasCoordinate and schedule clinical safety laboratory specimen draws and ensure timely results are available to providersPrepare pre-visit communication for providers to ensure required assessments are completed and documentedMaintain point of contact communication with enrolled patients and assist with front line questions regarding study participationDevelop protocol specific flow charts, intake sheets, and other tools to ensure protocol compliance and proper data acquisitionCoordinate, obtain, process, and ship protocol required tissue samplesEnsure collection and processing (e.g. spin/separate/freeze) of all required correlative research blood samples with the coordination of the MGH Sample Processing Lab (SPL)Scans in research documents and certifies these documents as copiesFollow patients for the duration of study participation via electronic medical record review to ensure protocol complianceComplete data entry by extracting patient demographics and clinical data via electronic medical chart reviewMaintain research charts and/or electronic files for all enrolled patientsEnsure adequate source documentation is in place for all data reportedResolve data queriesBuild REDCap database as needed and maintain database with up-to-date informationMaintain screening and enrollment logsInteract with clinical and research laboratory personnel at MGH and outside institutions to coordinate analysis of collected materialsAttend research team meetingsSkills/Abilities/Competencies RequiredCareful attention to detail and good organizational skills.
