Inpatient Adult Psychiatrist

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to join The Shores Mental Health in Westport, Connecticut. In this role, you will participate in patient care, resident supervision, and medical student teaching as a critical member of our inpatient adult team. This opportunity offers a collegial faculty environment with academic appointment potential through the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine. Practice Info The Shores Mental Health is a part of St. Vincent’s Medical Center and the behavioral health service line of Hartford Healthcare’s Fairfield region Primary teaching hospital for Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine 76-bed free-standing inpatient psychiatric service at the Westport location featuring adult, dual diagnosis, and child/adolescent services Comprehensive continuum of ED, consult-liaison, and outpatient services including IOP 10-bed geriatric and medically complex psychiatric unit at the main Medical Center in Bridgeport Outpatient services including IOP at the clinic in Norwalk Responsibilities Participate in patient care Participate in resident supervision Participate in medical student teaching Compensation This is a salaried position Hire bonuses Incentive pay plans Loan repayment Administrative stipends Relocation Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school BE or BC in Adult Psychiatry Eligible for unrestricted Connecticut medical licensure and DEA registration Demonstrated commitment to high-quality inpatient psychiatric care Interest in teaching and supervising psychiatry residents and medical students Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary team collaboration skills
