The Technical Support Intern will work onsite between 20-25 hours per week Monday to Friday in our Houston office. Lunch and transportation allowance will be provided. Role Summary The Technical Support Intern role is a fully onsite position, 5 days a week. This position will be providing support for a partner migration project. This internship will last about 2 months or longer, depending on the progress of the project. You will assist in device handling, inventory tracking, and basic deployment support. Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities Learn and understand the basic characteristics and use cases of common payment terminals and PIN pads (PAX, Dejavoo, Valor, etc.) to support inventory and deployment operations Assist with large-scale terminal reprogramming projects related to MID changes and account migrations Support inventory management in the Houston office, including tracking device status, serial numbers, and movement Become familiar with device-related CRM and internal systems, and assist with simple deployment and replacement requests Learn the basic operation and configuration of payment devices, and help with entry-level troubleshooting tasks Assist in processing merchant applications and entering client information into internal systems Provide technical assistance for inbound questions related to terminal hardware under supervision Help ensure deployment tasks are completed accurately and within required timelines Qualifications Must be authorized to work in the US at the time of hire. We are an E-Verify employer! Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin-Chinese is required, both written and verbal Must be currently pursuing or have graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a STEM field Strong ownership mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment Good communication skills and willingness to learn technical concepts Able to take initiative and solve problems with guidance Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks before deadlines Able to work both independently and as part of a team Proficient in MS Excel and Word (tracking, documentation, basic reporting) About uP Since 2003, Universal Processing has dedicated itself to growing the unique needs of small and medium-sized businesses by putting people before profits.
