Position: Scrub Technician – CVOR $$SN$$
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Shift: Days – 5x8s (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) with 2 weekday calls and every 3rd–4th weekend call
Duration: 12 weeks

Job Duties

• Assist the registered nurse with planning and coordinating patient care.

• Perform surgical scrubbing duties and maintain strict aseptic technique throughout procedures.

• Provide support during surgical procedures while maintaining responsibility for equipment and supplies.

• Communicate patient information appropriately with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members.

• Account for all equipment and supplies used during surgical cases.

• Maintain and clean the operating room environment and surgical equipment.

• Support teamwork, patient safety, quality improvement, and department customer-service standards.

• Serve as a clinical preceptor for surgical scrubbing when assigned.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the department.

Requirements

• MUST HAVE CVOR experience

• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required

• BLS required

• High School Diploma/GED required

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist educational program OR approved surgical technology training program

• English proficiency required (speak, read, write)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

• Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently walk, bend, crouch, stoop, push/pull, and lift/move patients or equipment

• Ability to lift, move, or carry up to 50 lbs

• Must be able to work under stressful conditions and may be required to work weekends, holidays, and call

• Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and infectious materials is expected in the operating-room environment
