Sales Engineer

The job of the Sales Engineer is to assist the Sales Manager to gain market share, drive pipeline, increase sales, and implement the strategic plan at a profitable level within their assigned sales territory for the Commercial Connector Division. The candidate must be self-motivated and encompass a passionate attitude towards collaborative team work.

Major Accountabilities:

1. Exceed yearly sales goals surpassing year over year targets.
2. Identify and expand relationships at key accounts within territory.
3. To produce a call plan once a week based on, but not limited to, the following criteria: Open Quotes, Open Projects, Web Leads, Exhibition Leads, Key Accounts and Customer Visits.
4. To pursue all potential business opportunities in a timely manner.
5. To make detailed call/visit reports and prospecting notes in the CRM (Salesforce) system.
6. Understand customer application requirements and develop suitable solutions.
7. Provide recommendations to customers regarding their harness or connector application requirements.
8. Interface between the customer and JAE's Product Design, Marketing and Manufacturing Groups.
9. Provide bookings forecasts for assigned accounts.
10. Represent JAE at various industry trade shows as directed by management.

• Strong ability to initiate, develop and maintain customer / partner relationships.
• Excellent organization and program management skills.

Travel:

Travel within the region will be approximately 40% of the time.

Qualification Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree (Engineering, Industrial Distribution preferred).
• Language: English and Spanish speaking a plus.
• Experience: Prior solutions based sales background in working with customers and developing long-term relationships and partnerships preferred.
