Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized professional, and results oriented individual to serve as a Senior Public Service Administrator (Monitoring Administrator). DCFS offers a competitive compensation plan, excellent benefits, and a generous pension program. Essential Functions
- As Monitoring Administrator, formulates, designs, and directs the implementation of policies and procedures regarding monitoring services related to guardianship and adoption action planning and licensing action planning.
- Directs, plans, and manages Tragedy Reviews and action plan execution.
- Serves as full line supervisor.
- Represents the Deputy Director and the Department before other state and federal agencies, private organizations, elected officials, courts, and lay groups with regard to permanency-related issues.
- Serves as Master Trainer in designated areas.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires an MSW or master’s degree in a related human services field.
- Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR five years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of professional experience managing or conducting child welfare casework or performance monitoring services.
- 3 years of professional experience in the oversight of a large program for a public or private organization.
- 3 years of professional project management experience.
- 3 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- 3 years of professional experience conducting planning activities on a statewide basis.
- 3 years of professional experience in the development of strategies for the improvement of program services.
- 3 years of professional experience conducting community outreach as a representative of a public or business organization.
- 2 years of professional experience serving as a trainer of professional staff in a social work area.

- This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
