Senior Java Full Stack Developer

Our client in the Springfield, MA area is seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Full Stack Developer to join their team on a contract basis. This role involves designing and implementing enterprise integration solutions, leveraging AWS cloud technologies, and developing scalable data pipelines to support high-volume workloads. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a hybrid remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhance existing applications using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot to improve functionality and performance.
• Develop and maintain front-end interfaces with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and AJAX, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Interact with Oracle databases using SQL and PL/SQL to optimize data retrieval and storage processes.
• Design and implement data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and integrating data from multiple source systems.
• Deploy containerized applications on AWS ECS with Fargate, utilizing S3 for object storage and SQS for asynchronous messaging.
• Build and optimize database schemas with partitioning strategies for high-volume tables exceeding 10 million rows.
• Develop integration adapters using Apache Camel for message routing, transformation, and orchestration across messaging systems such as AMQ, JMS, and SQS.
• Collaborate with architects on technology evaluations, document integration designs, and mentor team members on Spring Boot and AWS best practices.
• Write comprehensive unit tests with JUnit and Mockito, and deploy code through Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Interact with end users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java 17/21 and Spring MVC.
• Experience working with Oracle databases and SQL/PLSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including ECS, S3, and SQS.
• Proven ability to develop front-end components using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and AJAX.
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns using Apache Camel and messaging systems like JMS or ActiveMQ.
• Skilled in database schema design, partitioning, and performance optimization for high-volume data environments.
• Knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Thymeleaf or similar server-side templating engines.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, especially Jenkins.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python scripting for data processing and file manipulation.
• Knowledge of Spring Batch for batch processing.
• Prior experience in regulated environments or with legacy systems is a plus.
