Control Room Operator

Job Title We are looking for an individual to join our team at Reworld. Job Description To be considered for this position the individual must have a valid Massachusetts Second Class Engineer's license or higher, at least three years previous experience with high pressure boilers and electric generating equipment, or formal technical training and a High School Diploma or equivalent. Responsibilities include: Controlling the operation of systems including steam generation, condensate, feed water, turbine/generator, circulating water, service water, fuel handling, ash handling, electrical, fire protection, air pollution control and various computer networks. Reading and interpreting meters, gauges, recorders, and annunciators to determine system operating conditions; taking action within prescribed normal and emergency operating procedures. Adjusting and monitoring temperatures, pressures, flow and levels on station primary system components for plant optimization. Initiating and conducting periodic surveillance tests on operating safety checks and tests on operating conditions. Maintaining required logs and calculations; observing these logs for indications of faulty operation; notifying supervisor of abnormal system conditions. Monitoring operation of systems and components including pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates, augers, conveyors, dust collections, etc. Monitorings operability of fire protection systems, emergency backup equipment, electrical supply equipment and instrumentation associated with station systems and components. Monitoring air pollution control equipment. Accurately reading and recording data, and reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which indicate possible equipment danger. Identifying and correcting abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations. Understanding and training other Operators on the operating principles of the power facility's systems, components and steam cycles. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
