Step into a hands-on craft where precision meets pride. As our Composite Surface Finishing Technician, you’ll guide fiberglass parts from rough form to showroom-ready, shaping the final look, feel, and quality of every product that leaves the floor.

A Day in the Life

You clock in and review the day’s build list, then move from prep to polish:

• Transform raw fiberglass components by sanding, grinding, and buffing until the surface is uniform and smooth.
• Lay down gel coats and other finishing layers, adjusting technique for coverage, color, and texture.
• Examine each piece against quality standards, correcting imperfections and fine-tuning details.
• Coordinate with teammates to hit production targets and keep jobs flowing.
• Keep your bay spotless and safe, following all procedures and PPE guidelines.
• Troubleshoot finish issues (e.g., pinholes, fisheyes, orange peel) and resolve process hiccups quickly.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED; technical coursework in composites/finishing is a plus.
• Background in fiberglass finishing or similar trade preferred.
• Meticulous attention to detail and dedication to top-tier craftsmanship.
• Works well solo and thrives in a collaborative setting.
• Comfort with finishing tools and equipment (sanders, grinders, polishers, spray systems).
• Clear communication and a positive, can-do mindset.
