Resource RN

The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse, requires a wide range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise. PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, in addition to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The PMH RN works in a variety of settings and provides comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities when applicable.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• 3 rd shift 8’s

• Start ASAP

• Local Pay: $65-70/hr

• Travel Pay: $3k/week

• Exp: 2-4 Years MINIMUM in In-Patient Psych

• • Experience: Someone who has been a House Supervisor- someone who has been in charge of entire hospital staff on an off shift (2nd or 3rd shift)

II. Expectations that are specific to the Resource Nurse position

1. In addition to performing all duties listed in “RN and LPN Position Requirements” section of the NHH-Amergis contract, the Resource Nurse must be qualified to perform duties that include but are not limited to the following:

2. Oversee the units and serve as a resource to nursing staff in maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and caring environment on the units and throughout the hospital, by conducting frequent rounds through the 11-7 shift.

3. Act as a role model for the delivery of safe and therapeutic nursing care.

4. Identify and communicate clinical and administrative concerns to Executive Nursing Leadership and/or the Executive on Call.

5. Initiate the NHH Emergency Preparedness Plan and Patient Care Services Continuity of Operations Plans when needed in emergency situations.

6. Monitor staff adherence to the Policies and Standards of NHH and NHH Department of Nursing.

7. Monitor staffing throughout the hospital.

8. Demonstrate positive leadership.
