Pharmacist

Company Description Infusion Plus is a Mississippi-owned and operated home infusion pharmacy that provides intravenous medications and nutritional therapies for adults and children in their homes, onsite infusion suites, or alternate care settings. Medications are prepared in an accredited facility and delivered with the necessary supplies and equipment to support safe administration. The organization offers a wide range of therapies, including anti-infectives, IV and enteral nutrition, cardiac therapies, pain management, hydration, immunoglobulins, and other specialty treatments. State-of-the-art infusion suites and ambulatory services support first doses, lab work, line access and maintenance, line removal, and patient education. A collaborative team of experienced pharmacists, registered nurses, and support staff works closely with physicians, hospitals, and home health providers, with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers accepted.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Flowood, MS. The Pharmacist will oversee the safe preparation, verification, and dispensing of intravenous medications and nutritional therapies in compliance with pharmacy regulations, accreditation standards, and company policies. Responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting medication orders, performing clinical assessments, checking for drug interactions and dosing accuracy, and documenting all interventions. The Pharmacist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient therapy plans and support continuity of care from hospital to home or infusion suite. Day-to-day tasks also include counseling patients and caregivers, providing education on medication use and administration, participating in quality assurance activities, and supporting inventory management and sterile compounding oversight.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Mississippi (or eligibility for licensure within a defined timeframe).
• Demonstrated experience with sterile compounding, IV admixture, and handling of parenteral nutrition or specialty infusion therapies in a hospital, home infusion, or specialty pharmacy setting.
• Strong clinical knowledge of anti-infectives, TPN, cardiac therapies, pain management, hydration, immunoglobulins, and other injectable medications relevant to infusion care.
• Proficiency in medication order review, drug interaction screening, dosing verification, and use of pharmacy information systems and electronic medical records.
• Effective communication and patient education skills, with the ability to explain complex therapies to patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams in a clear, supportive manner.
• Detail-oriented approach to documentation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, including adherence to USP standards and accreditation requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, physicians, case managers, and support staff in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
