Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department

Location

Carlsbad, NM | Acute Care – Emergency Department (Level 3 Trauma)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days | 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide shift-level accountability for patient care in the Emergency Department utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the care team
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects with accuracy and attention to detail
• Demonstrate critical thinking and clinical judgment in anticipating and planning for safe patient care delivery
• Document patient care thoroughly, adhering to safety standards, infection control protocols, and quality improvement initiatives
• Float as required within scope and experience, including potential float to ICU; floating is required

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in New Mexico
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico
• Call-out notification must be made a minimum of 2 hours prior to shift start
• EMR experience; facility uses MedHost (EDIS)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ENPC certification preferred
• NRP certification preferred
• Experience in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department setting
• Familiarity with 4:1 patient ratios in a fast-paced emergency environment
