Leasing Paralegal

Our client, a real estate investment trust company, located in Chicago is seeking a Leasing Paralegal with at least 3-5+ years of experience to join their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate must have prior commercial leasing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, revise, and finalize commercial leases, amendments, and related legal documents throughout the negotiation and execution process
• Prepare, review, and revise agreements, including consents, commission and listing agreements, and other tenant-related documents
• Abstract leases and review lease abstracts prepared by others to ensure accuracy
• Perform lease administration functions, including monitoring compliance with lease terms and lease audit standards
• Prepare default notices, legal correspondence, and other tenant communications
• Process requests related to transfers, assignments, subleases, and alterations
• Assist with management of company associations, including annual compliance efforts and preparation of minutes and resolutions as needed
• Research and analyze leases, contracts, and related documents to resolve interpretation issues
• Maintain familiarity regarding company forms, policies, procedures, and document standards.
• Assist with brokerage licensing compliance and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with legal, leasing, property management, and business teams to support ongoing real estate transactions and operational initiatives

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
• Bonus : Annual 12% bonus target plus 5% equity
