Outpatient Pharmacy Pediatrics Physical Therapy Radiology Services Surgery WIC Program Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Administer complex procedures to patients of all ages, including acute and critical care. Establish and maintain mechanical ventilation for newborn, pediatric, and adult patients. Make ventilator adjustments based on diagnostic tests, patient response, and ventilator status. Monitor patients for changes in cardio‑pulmonary status and respond appropriately. Maintain a patent airway during resuscitation and mechanical ventilation. Assist with oral intubations, maintaining airway stability and appropriate cuff pressures. Apply advanced ventilator techniques such as CPAP, BiPAP, PS, SIMV, PEEP, and PC. Demonstrate expertise in managing patients on life support systems, ensuring total patient care and equipment maintenance. Establish ventilator weaning criteria and initiate weaning procedures; extubate when appropriate. Use a variety of ventilators appropriate for age and clinical application. Administer treatment modalities including PEP therapy, handheld nebulizers, continuous nebulizers, oxygen therapy, and chest percussion. Initiate and perform CPR effectively without physician direction. Use manual resuscitation devices to ensure successful air exchange and respiration. Transport patients while maintaining adequate ventilation and perfusion. Continuously assess cardio‑pulmonary status using observation and diagnostic results. Determine therapy effectiveness and need. Assist physicians with procedures such as thoracentesis, tracheotomy, and thoracoscopy. Assist the pediatrician with delivery of high‑risk infants, especially those requiring artificial ventilation. Perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis; interpret results and act accordingly. Provide arterial blood samples for used catheters. Participate in the Pediatric Chronic Care Clinic, providing spirometry screening, peak flow measurements, and asthma education. Participate in the Smoking Cessation program, providing education and carbon monoxide measurements. Perform diagnostic testing for patients requiring FVC, SVC, FRC, and DLCO. Consult with nursing and medical staff regarding diagnostic information, patient status, and appropriate therapy application. Perform other related duties as assigned.
